Arrive in Halifax and make your own way to your hotel which is ideally located in the downtown core of this vibrant and cosmopolitan urban centre on the Atlantic Ocean. Meet your guide and fellow travellers this evening at a Meet & Greet reception.
Discover the rustic charm of the renowned fishing village of Peggy’s Cove where you will enjoy breakfast overlooking one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. Travel the South Shore and on to the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, renowned for her fleets of Grand Banks’ fishing schooners.
Take a walking tour to fully experience one of the most remarkably preserved colonial settlements in the New World, and visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town’s famous seafaring heritage before enjoying an included dinner this evening at the hotel.
En route to the bridge crossing to Prince Edward Island, we learn about Mi’kmaq culture at the Glooscap Heritage Centre & Mi’kmaq Museum. Once only accessible by ferry, we cross over to Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge - the world’s longest continuous multi-span bridge. We are treated to true Maritime hospitality this evening at a traditional hall-style lobster supper before checking into our hotel for the evening.
Enjoy a free morning in Charlottetown, Canada's birthplace, or join a complimentary walking tour of the city. This afternoon, tour the scenic North Shore of the island. Drive by red cliffs, white beaches, gently sloping sand dunes and green fields of Prince Edward Island National Park and visit Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the alluring inspiration of Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic books. We take in a theatre performance this evening by local entertainers at the Confederation Centre of the Arts (a substitution activity may be necessary due to the theatre schedule.)
Ferry over the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia and proceed to Cape Breton Island, the Scotland of North America, via the Canso Causeway. Visit Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck to learn of the many accomplishments of this genius who made his home on the island. This evening we enjoy an included dinner after checking into your accommodations on the Bras d'Or Lake where you will spend the next two nights.
Experience one of the most stunningly picturesque drives in North America today as you tour the Cabot Trail which winds around the rocky splendour of Cape Breton's northern shore, ascending to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Look-offs offer unforgettable vistas of Cape Breton's rugged coastline so be sure to have your camera on hand. Enjoy a picnic lunch followed by a Whale Watching Boat Tour (weather permitting). We return back to the hotel where and included dinner will be served this evening.
We get a look into the early days of colonial life with a visit to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. The vivid history of the region comes alive in this accurate reconstruction of one of the major settlements of circa 1744 New France. Roam the streets and chat with authentically costumed guides. After our visit we proceed along the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake to the mainland before continuing on to Halifax for one last night in the Maritimes.
A time for last minute shopping and farewells. Make your own way to Halifax International Airport in time to check in for your onward flight.

Online check-in
Some airlines may not permit online check-in where flights have been booked by a travel company. Where unavailable to do so online, you will be required to check-in at the airport. Inspiring Vacations cannot check-in online on behalf of our customers.
Fitness Requirements
While the tour itinerary should give you some guidance and overview to the expected requirements, to determine if this tour is right for you we categorise each of our tours in terms of their intensity. These guidelines are to ensure that each tour group is conducted as expected and to ensure the overall satisfaction of all Inspiring Vacations customers.
As a general rule, porterage is not included, therefore at all times you are expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available.

Moderate Tour: A good level of fitness and mobility is required, as this tour includes a moderate level of physical activity and is considered a medium-fast paced tour. You should be able to walk up and down stairs, get on and off the coach and able to walk reasonable distances of approximately 2 kilometres per day or more with ease. Any physical ailments you may have must be disclosed at the time of booking to determine your suitability. If you have any form of walking aids, other than a walking stick or hiking poles, then this tour is not suitable.
Tipping
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. While tipping is not customary, it's of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many destinations.
You may also consider tipping your tour leader and driver for outstanding service throughout your trip. Remember, a tip is not compulsory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.

It is the traveller's responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return.

Group Size
Group size will vary depending on departure date selected. Unless otherwise stated group size will be up to 50 travellers. On selected departures only, group size will be no more than 24 travellers.
