Welcome to Fiji! Known for its palm-lined beaches, coral reefs with clear lagoons, Fiji is an archipelago of more than 300 islands.

Once you arrive at Nadi Airport, the main transport hub on Fiji's main island, and be transferred to Denarau. This evening will be at leisure before we set off tomorrow and board the MS Caledonian Sky and embark on our beautiful Southern Lau Fiji Islands adventure.

Welcome on board the MS Caledonian Sky! This expedition promises a perfect blend of natural wonders, cultural immersion, and warm hospitality.

You will be escorted to your cabin and time to settle in before exploring the ship for yourself. 

Before the sun sets, why not dive into some of the activities (literally): take an afternoon swim, snorkel or dive the third largest reef in the world, the Great Sea Reef.

After enjoying breakfast on board (you can choose to dine al fresco on the deck as you watch the beautiful views pass by or in the ship's dining room for a more formal setting), prepare for your visit to Fiji’s fourth largest island, Buliya. 

Following a guided hike, we’ll reach Buliya’s villages and speak with residents. You’ll quickly discover why this beautiful piece of paradise played host to the French version of TV show, Survivor. Later go for a refreshing ocean swim or grab a book and laze on its magnificent white sandy beaches. 

There’s a chance to swim and snorkel with manta rays in Buliya’s pristine shallow waters and for divers, the world’s fourth largest reef, Great Astrolabe, is just the ticket!

Today’s highlights include a guided hike to discover Matuku’s history and visit Lomati, one of its five villages. There is much to learn and discover on today’s visit. 

Between 1840 and 1853, when Tongan Prince Enele Ma'afu was trying to invade the island, the Cakobau (King) of Fiji was protected on Matuku by the people and ultimately returned to his home island of Bau. Evidence of the fierce battles remains, including ring ditches and war fortifications from the era can be found around the island.

Fulaga is a horse-shoe shaped island and famous for its crystal-clear lagoons, colourful tropical fish and coral gardens. You’ll have a chance to swim in this magnificent aqua blue paradise and meet local villagers who’ll be happy to welcome you to their home and share their traditionally crafted wood carvings and handicrafts. 

We arrive at Yagasa Island for an afternoon of snorkelling, swimming, coral viewing and kayaking. Snorkel around the magnificent collection of coral bommies rich with diverse and abundant marine life and beautiful coral garden.

After breakfast, come ashore on the chalky white beach of this uninhabited and sacred island of Vuaqava. A beautiful, guided hike through the lush vegetation leads to the centre of the island where an inland lake, known for its resident turtles and amazing bird life, provides a great spot to have a swim or just take in the tranquillity. When you return to the shore, you will be treated to a locally prepared delicacy of coconut crab.

This afternoon, you’ll be welcomed by the people of the Naikeleyaga Village on the island of Kabara. Known for its wood turning and Tongan heritage, Kabara is Fiji’s home of wood carving. Experience a traditional Meke, Sevusevu and Lovo, which is quite different from most you may find in Fiji.

Today’s island visit takes us to the tiny horse-shoe shaped Totoya Island with its deep-water volcanic crater. The high reef surrounding Totoya makes it a popular boating destination with its fascinating water passages and it’s also home to a world-famous surfing break. 

We visit a local school and the children will, no doubt, be eager to chat and show you their work. We’ll also have the opportunity to explore the local reefs for some outstanding diving and snorkelling.

A beautiful aquamarine lagoon surrounds Vatulele offering excellent snorkelling and extraordinary dive sites. Vatulele is also the most famous place in Fiji for the craft of tapa, the traditional bark cloth. The females of the village will share their knowledge and teach you how it is done. 

Exploring Vatulele, you’ll learn all about uradamudamu, the sacred and protected red prawns of the island. The islanders treat the prawns with great respect and are forbidden to kill or harm them in any way.

Beqa, a mountainous island covered in tropical rainforest, is also home to firewalking, which started  around 500 years ago on the island. when there were only around 50 people living in the village of Nakarovu. Legend says the special firewalking powers are specific to the descendants of Tuinaiviqalita. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to dive with sharks, plus an optional sport fishing experience.

Enjoy a final breakfast on board as we return to Lautoka for disembarkation at 9am and transfer to Denarau for one night. 

The crew will bid you farewell in song, including the traditional Fijian isa lei as they say sota tale or “see you again.”

Once on land, you will be transferred to your hotel in Denarau, where your last night will be spent at your own leisure.

Secure your trip with a ₹3,999.00 deposit per person.

Once we receive your deposit, we will send you an invoice with your remaining balance and payment options.

Instalment Schedule:

  1. At the time of booking pay a ₹3,999.00 deposit per person.
  2. Pay a 1st installment of ₹41,310.00 per person within 28 days.
  3. Pay a 2nd installment of ₹82,620.00 per person within 90 days.
  4. You will then be invoiced for final payment 120 days prior to departure.

This is a Land Only package.

This package does not include international airfares. If you would like to add airfares to your booking our flight portal will be available via your Traveller Hub. The flight portal will allow you to search for all available airfares to your destination. The function works like most general flight search engines allowing you to select your preferred airline, book different cabin classes (eg. Business class) and view flight durations and transit times to your destination. 

The flight portal will be available via your Traveller Hub once the following criteria has been met:

  • Your booking is confirmed
  • Your departure date is within 11 months
  • You  have completed your passenger detail form

Some of our packages will include airport transfers in either one or both directions when arriving or departing from your destination. To know if transfers are included please view the ‘inclusions’ section of your selected package. If airport transfers are stated, transfers will be included as advised.

If transfers are not included, we also offer the option to book your airport transfers using our online portal. Access to this portal is available through your Traveller Hub once your booking is confirmed. Transfers are readily available and do not need to be booked until your final hotel list has been confirmed. Once you have made a transfer booking, please refer to your confirmation email for all transfer details including a local contact number for the transfer company.

If you book pre and/or post-tour accommodation on your own arrangement, and the tour includes transfers, note that these will be forfeited. The transfers are only provided in line with the tour dates and pre and/or post-tour accommodation purchased through Inspiring Vacations when available.

All participants must be in good physical condition to fully engage in this journey. For the safety and welfare of yourself and fellow travellers, if you are feeling unwell prior to departure, we advise staying home and contacting us to arrange alternate plans.

Please be aware that if, based on evaluation by our leader or local representative, a participant is deemed unable to safely complete the itinerary, we retain the right to exclude them from all or part of the trip without reimbursement.

It is advisable to consult your physician for current medical travel advisories and any required vaccinations before embarking. We recommend carrying a first aid kit and any necessary medications in their original packaging, as they may not be readily available during travel. For those carrying medication, it's essential to check your government's foreign travel guidelines for local restrictions or regulations.

Fitness Requirements
While the tour itinerary should give you some guidance and overview to the expected requirements, to determine if this tour is right for you we categorise each of our tours in terms of their intensity. These guidelines are to ensure that each tour group is conducted as expected and to ensure the overall satisfaction of all Inspiring Vacations customers.

As a general rule, porterage is not included, therefore at all times you are expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available.

Leisurely Paced Tour: A general level of fitness and mobility is required for this tour. The itinerary includes ample free time and you will not be impacted by stairs and uneven terrain. Where coach transportation is included, you will be required to get on and off the coach with ease.

Tipping
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. While tipping is not customary, it's of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many destinations.

Travel Insurance
