Gary and his partner Wendy share their experiences on our 19 Day Ultimate African Safari tour
What prompted you to book your tour?
We first booked our 19 Day Ultimate African Safari after examining a variety of African tours. We chose Inspiring Vacations having completed two other tours (one to Japan and one to Egypt/Jordan) so we had confidence in IV's product and delivery. The attraction of this tour in particular was it included Kruger NP and Victoria Falls.
Did your expectations meet reality?
Botswana was such a wonderful surprise. Our tour included three countries so we had considerable variety. Our tour guide and driver were exemplary in their care of our group, their knowledge and attention to detail. We were impressed by the service levels and friendliness of the staff at the lodges. It seemed to us they valued the tourists visiting their country.
What were the highlights of this tour for you?
So many highlights, too many to list but a guided walk around the Zimbabwean side of the Victoria Falls, a helicopter view of the Falls and finally a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River ensured we had a complete experience. We elected to choose a small group tour (12 people) and our group experience was excellent. In Kruger—which was the starting point of our tour— we saw the Big 5 so we could really kick back and savour the rest of our safari journey. One surprise for our group was an unplanned stop at a typical Zimbabwean village; this gave us a glimpse of village life.
What do you say to those pondering whether or not to book this tour?
Our safari tour was a great success! The helicopter flight was an optional tour and we would highly recommend taking the opportunity.
