Upon your arrival in Osaka, you'll be met at the airport by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, so enjoy your first taste of Japan but be sure to rest before a full day tomorrow!

Today's excursion will cast you back in time as you visit the Todai-Ji or the Great Eastern Temple. A Buddhist temple complex dating back to the eigth century and reconstructed across the centuries, the site's Great Buddha Hall contains the world's largest bronze Buddha statue. You'll also stroll through Nara Park, famous for its natural beauty, temples, ponds and free-roaming sika deer. Upon your return to Osaka, you'll visit one of Japan's most renowned landmarks, Osaka Castle. Dating to 1597, it plated a central part in unifying the country during the unstable years of the seventeenth century. You'll be transferred to Dōtonbori for a chance to experience the city's vibrant food culture.

Your first stop will be at the Heian Jingu Shinto Shrine, followed by Kinkakuji or the Temple of the Golden Pavilion. The top two floors are coated in gold leaf and the structure seamlessly blends with the surrounding strolling garden and reflective ponds. First stop is Oshino Hakkai, whose eight snow-melt ponds from the slopes of Mt Fuji produce a mineral water revered by locals. Visit Gotemba Peace Park on the south-eastern flank of Mt Fuji for breathtaking views following by Hakone Shrine, built in its current form in 1667 on the banks of Lake Ashi where a nine-headed dragon was reputedly pacified by a local priest.

After breakfast, you’ll visit Meiji Shrine, dedicated to the Emperor Meiji who died in 1912 and Empress Shoken. As you near Tokyo, you’ll visit the Kannon Temple, the city oldest temple and dedicated to the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. By now you’ll have entered the very centre of bustling Tokyo with a visit to the Tokyo Tower, a popular place for stunning panoramic views.

Refundable deposit within 28 days of purchase:
For cancellations made within 28 days of paying the deposit on any tour, your deposit can be refunded in full or can be transferred to a new booking should you decide to change to another package or destination. Please note this change of mind guarantee does not apply for bookings made within 90 days of departure, after which time our standard 48 hour cooling off period applies. After this time, your booking becomes non-refundable.

Refund times will vary and the timeframe of which will be advised at the time of cancellation. Any refund of deposit will be issued back to the original form of payment.

Following the second installment payment and up until 90 days before your departure only, should you wish to postpone your travel or transfer to another package, we can provide you with a credit note of the current balance paid on your booking, to be used to rebook within 18 months of the credit being issued.
