As our exploration continues, we'll cross the border into France, concluding our day with a late arrival in the magnificent city of Paris. Our next destination is Lucerne, widely regarded as one of the most picturesque cities in Switzerland. Here, we'll have ample time to wander through the charming streets, immersing ourselves in the city's beauty. Soak in the enchanting atmosphere before we return to our hotel in Zurich.
In the early morning, we'll depart from Zurich and embark on a scenic journey through the majestic Alps, crossing over to the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. As we traverse this picturesque route, we'll be treated to the sight of stunning lakes and snow-capped mountains. Our first destination is Lugano, the cosmopolitan capital of Italian Switzerland, nestled alongside its beautiful lake.

Today, we embark on the next leg of our journey towards Pisa. Boarding a charming tourist train, we'll make our way to the Piazza Dei Miracoli, also known as the Square of Miracles. In the morning, we embark on a scenic tour, providing a splendid introduction to the magnificent "Eternal City" of Rome. Our first stop takes us to the Vatican, the revered epicenter of Christianity worldwide. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore the renowned St. Peter's Basilica, a truly awe-inspiring site. The morning kicks off with an extensive tour of Madrid's city centre, taking in iconic sights such as Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, the Gate of Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor. We will then explore Retiro Park, a serene oasis nestled in the heart of the city, where you can admire the lake and the beautiful Glass Palace. In the morning, we set off on our journey to Aragón, passing through the picturesque lands of Castile. Our first stop is in Zaragoza, where we will make a brief visit to the Pilar Basilica. Continuing our adventure, we make our way to the Monastery of Poblet, a remarkable medieval monastery surrounded by its protective walls (entrance included). Our next destination is the awe-inspiring Monastery of Montserrat, where you will have the opportunity to ascend the mountain on a rack train and behold its breathtaking scenery. Finally, we proceed to Barcelona, arriving in the late afternoon.
Please note that in some cases, depending on the rack railway schedule, we may ascend to Montserrat in our coach.
Also, during the winter months from November to March, due to shorter daylight hours, we will omit the visit to the Monastery of Poblet in order to reach Montserrat while it is still daylight.
Today, we embark on an exploration of Barcelona, a stunning city nestled along the Mediterranean Sea. Our journey begins with an informative city tour led by a local expert. (Note: If the group consists of fewer than fifteen people, our guide will provide explanations.) We'll delve into the historic central area, including the Gothic neighbourhood that dates back to the Middle Ages. We'll also visit the site where the Olympic Games were held and have the opportunity to marvel at the architectural masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia Basilica, designed by the renowned architect Gaudí.
Next, we include entry tickets to 'Poble Espanyol' (Spanish Village), an open-air architectural museum located in one of Barcelona's most iconic areas. Online check-in

Rome Sightseeing
Due to restrictions limiting ticket availability, particularly for the months March - October, entrance to the Colosseum in Rome has been permanently removed from this tour. Visits to the Colosseum may still be possible during the low season (November - February) but remain subject to availability. When Colosseum tickets are not available for any departure, entrance to the Imperial Forums will be included as an alternative.

Active Paced Tour: A very good level of fitness and mobility is required for you to enjoy all aspects of the itinerary, as this is considered a fast-paced tour. While there is some free time scheduled either in the morning or afternoon, there are many full days of sightseeing with minimal rest and some early starts. You will be required to walk up and down stairs, get on and off the coach and participate in all scheduled sightseeing that may be conducted on uneven ground and terrain. Any physical ailments you may have must be disclosed at the time of booking to determine your suitability. If you have any form of walking aids, other than a walking stick or hiking poles, then this tour is not suitable.
Tipping
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Tipping is not compulsory on your trip, but they can make a big difference to locals employed in the tourism industry. If you feel that your guide and driver have done an impeccable job, you can choose to give a gratuity, but this is entirely your decision.
Accommodation
This package includes comfortable 3-4 star accommodation. However, the accommodation may not be centrally located. We recommend factoring in any additional transportation costs when considering this itinerary, as well as researching your final hotel list (received approximately 30 days before departure) so you can understand the facilities and amenities available throughout your stays.

Local Tourist Tax
A local city/tourist tax may be applicable each night during your stay. This cost can vary between €0.50 to €4.30 per person, per night (the higher standard of accommodation, the higher the tax will be). Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is compulsory for this tour to protect yourself against the unexpected. In addition to the support that a policy may provide, you may be asked to present a copy of your travel insurance documentation while traveling.

Visa & Passport information
It is the traveller's responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return.
