A taxi or Uber from Adelaide airport to your accommodation costs approximately $25 per car. Hotel check in is at 2pm. Should you arrive earlier than this, hotel staff will do all possible to check you in as soon as possible. Commence your wilderness journey heading north via the old coastal towns of Port Wakefield and Port Germein, which boasts the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. During the safari your Tour Guide will introduce you to a remarkable and resilient history of both Aboriginal and white settlement in S.A. Be amazed by the beauty of the Southern Flinders Ranges, 600 million year old mountain peaks and spectacular views over Spencer Gulf. Travel through the picturesque Pichi Richi Pass to the historic township of Quorn. With its typical outback buildings and the original Ghan Railway station, Quorn has been the setting for many iconic Australian films.
Follow in the path of our early explorers driving to Warren Gorge Conservation Park to search for rare and elusive Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabies. Dramatic rock outcrops harbour these endangered wallabies with only an estimated 8,000 living in the wild. Sit back in the comfortable, fully equipped 4WD vehicle as we head along the remote tracks through the deserted Willochra Plains where eagles soar and emus run free.

This morning after a hearty breakfast, our expert guide will drive you on a wonderful journey to the spectacular Bunyeroo Gorge, visiting secluded areas of great natural beauty. Explore the ever changing creek beds of Brachina Gorge. This is an area alive with wildlife and boasts a remarkable geological history including Ediacaran fossils dating back millions of years. World-renowned South Australian painter, Sir Hans Heysen was inspired by this country and painted many of his landscapes here. After a scrumptious picnic lunch, immerse yourself in the ancient landscape; take that special photograph from Razor Back Lookout or just enjoy some of the most spectacular outback scenery Australia has to offer. Wildlife including Kangaroos, Emus and Wedge tailed Eagles are prolific in this rugged terrain and are usually spotted in abundance in the late afternoon.

Enjoy an early morning walk, breathe in the fresh air while listening to the unique sounds of the Australian Bush. Spend a relaxing morning travelling back to Adelaide along the Eastern side of the magnificent Flinders Ranges with its mighty Red Gum forests. The land will change into lush expanses of natural rural beauty as we head south. Enjoy a break in the world-famous Clare Valley wine region before returning to Adelaide. Tonight is at your leisure.

Today you will be picked up from your hotel at 8:30am. The day starts off at Château Yaldara: home to what is undoubtedly some of the finest shirazes as well as magnificent and well-preserved period architecture.
From Chateau Yaldara we drive through the picturesque vineyards of the Barossa Valley, and crossing Jacob’s Creek. The tour then arrives at the historic township of Tanunda where there’s time to wander up the high street and explore the quaint little shops or enjoy a coffee. As one of the best getaways in Adelaide, our next stop is the renowned Peter Lehmann winery. There our group will enjoy an exclusive structured wine tasting hosted in the beautiful Eight Songs room within their cellar door. Here you’ll be given the opportunity to sample some of the Barossa’s internationally acclaimed vintages. Peter Lehmann’s is also our venue for lunch, where you will be treated to an exquisite Weighbridge platter of cheeses, olives, the region’s finest meats and assorted vegetables accompanied by freshly baked bread.
We will then head to our final wine-tasting experience for the day, Lindsay Wines. On the way, we take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Barossa from Mengler’s Hill Lookout. At Lindsay Wines you will be treated to a beautiful experience with the fusion of art, wine and music. Learn about the winery’s fascinating history as music from the staff’s own vintage vinyl records play in the background before returning to your Glenelg hotel around 5:30pm.

Early morning pick up from your Glenelg hotel for a scenic coach journey to Cape Jervis taking in the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula with its vineyards, coastal views and rolling hills. On arrival, board the SeaLink Kangaroo Island ferry for the 45 minute crossing to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island.
On arrival at Penneshaw or Kingscote Airport you will be met by your local guide and your island nature experience begins with an introduction to Kangaroo Island. At the spectacular Seal Bay Conservation Park, your guide will escort you on a memorable walk along the beach. This bay is home to a healthy Australian sea lion colony. Walk among the sea lions as they bask on the beach or among the sand dunes after their extensive fishing expedition.
Enjoy a delicious gourmet picnic style lunch with South Australian wine. Follow your lunch with a pleasant bushwalk or a stroll along the beach. Travel through the island’s interior keeping an eye out for koalas and echidnas. Explore the spectacular beaches and enjoy a bushwalk.
Later in the afternoon, as the day draws to a close, see the kangaroos leave the safety of the bush to begin grazing on the open pastures. Your day concludes at your overnight stay on Kangaroo Island.

Travel to the western end of the island and discover the remarkable Flinders Chase National Park, one of the oldest and most important national parks in South Australia. The park incorporates almost 20 per cent of the island and much of it is a Wilderness Protection Area.
See at close range some of the 10,000 healthy Long-nosed Fur Seals in their colony at Cape du Couedic and discover the formation of Remarkable Rocks.
At Admirals Arch see where the powerful forces of nature have cut through the headland to create this natural geological formation. A delicious gourmet style picnic lunch with South Australian wine will be served in a secluded bush setting.
By special permit, enter the Kelly Hill Conservation Park to see kangaroos and other native wildlife emerge from the safety of the bush land to graze on the open plains.

Fitness Requirements
While the tour itinerary should give you some guidance and overview to the expected requirements, to determine if this tour is right for you we categorise each of our tours in terms of their intensity. These guidelines are to ensure that each tour group is conducted as expected and to ensure the overall satisfaction of all Inspiring Vacations customers.
As a general rule, porterage is not included, therefore at all times you are expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available.

3 – Moderate Tour: A good level of fitness and mobility is required, as this tour includes a moderate level of physical activity and is considered a medium-fast paced tour. You should be able to walk up and down stairs, get on and off the coach and able to walk reasonable distances of approximately 2 kilometres per day or more with ease. Any physical ailments you may have must be disclosed at the time of booking to determine your suitability. If you have any form of walking aids, other than a walking stick or hiking poles, then this tour is not suitable.
