A portion of this tour runs as a group tour where you will be escorted by an expert tour leader. Another portion is self-guided, whether conducted by rail, cruise or land, and you will travel between destinations on your own, with free time to explore at your own pace.
This is considered a fast-paced tour. In order to explore as much as possible, this tour may require early starts and long travel days. One to two nights at one destination is standard. While some free time may be scheduled, most sightseeing is included throughout this tour. You will be required to move about unassisted, including getting on and off vehicles, walking up and down stairs and some activities will be conducted on uneven or steep terrain. Welcome to the Northern Territory! On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you’ll be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 3.00pm).
This evening, we’ll take a drive to Kata Tjuta (also known as The Olgas) to experience a magnificent Aussie outback sunset. We’ll return to the hotel where the rest of the evening is at leisure.

This morning we’ll rise early to witness a stunning Uluru sunrise, a bucket list experience, before continuing to Walpa Gorge, a natural creek that carves its way between the two tallest domes of Kata Tjuta.
This evening, dine under a million stars at the iconic Sounds of Silence dinner. As the sun sets, listen to the sound of a didgeridoo and join your fellow adventurers for an unforgettable experience. This evening, against a quintessential Aussie backdrop, enjoy a gourmet buffet of Australian delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines, then sit back and relax as a star talker explains the constellations of the southern night sky.
After dinner, we’ll head back to the hotel.

This morning after breakfast, we’ll head out to Kings Canyon, also known as Watarrka. We’ll climb the 6 km to the rim of the canyon and take in the marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. For those who want a view without the climbing, you can opt for an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed.
After this memorable experience we’ll return to the hotel where the rest of the day can be spent at leisure.
See the amazing collection of Indigenous art at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, then tour the base of Uluru and take the Kuniya Walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Experience the remarkable colour changes of Uluru, the world’s largest monolith, while enjoying sparkling wine at sunset.
Today we’ll see British artist Bruce Munro’s installation, Field of Light, an immersive light display and his largest work to date (it would cover over seven football fields).
Located next to Uluru, wander through 50,000 handcrafted frosted glass spheres of light, in colours of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white. It’s a magical experience and a fitting end to your outback adventure.
Later, you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight.

Some of our packages will include airport transfers in either one or both directions when arriving or departing from your destination. To know if transfers are included please view the ‘inclusions’ section of your selected package. If airport transfers are stated, transfers will be included as advised.
If transfers are not included, we also offer the option to book your airport transfers using our online portal. Access to this portal is available through your Traveller Hub once your booking is confirmed. Transfers are readily available and do not need to be booked until your final hotel list has been confirmed. Once you have made a transfer booking, please refer to your confirmation email for all transfer details including a local contact number for the transfer company.
If you book pre and/or post-tour accommodation on your own arrangement, and the tour includes transfers, note that these will be forfeited. The transfers are only provided in line with the tour dates and pre and/or post-tour accommodation purchased through Inspiring Vacations when available.
